While using the Genspark Claw desktop app on the free plan, I got this message:

Free-plan credits can't be used with the Genspark API / LLM proxy.
Please visit https://www.genspark.ai/pricing ... to subscribe or purchase credits.
Stop retrying this request.

What does it mean?

Claw in the desktop app (local mode) calls AI models through the Genspark API / LLM proxy. But the daily free-plan credits can’t be used for this proxy.

So retrying won’t help — you’ll keep getting the same message. Memory requests like “remember this” may not be saved in this state either.

How to fix it

  1. Subscribe or buy credits using the pricing link in the message.
  2. Use other tools instead of Claw, such as AI Slides, AI Docs, or other free AI tools.
  3. Check failed requests at genspark.ai/credit-usage.

Saving credits on a paid plan

Claw uses credits for every message and every tool call, so it drains credits much faster than normal chat.

  • Switch to a lighter model: some users report much lower usage after switching.
  • Turn off Heartbeat and unused Schedules: they consume credits in the background.
  • Save rules once with “remember this” instead of pasting them every time.
  • Ask for a plan first: “Show me a 3-line plan and wait for my OK.”
  • Set a workspace folder from the input bar so Claw stays inside your project.
  • Start a new session for a new task: longer chats cost more.

무슨 뜻인가요?

데스크탑 앱의 Claw(로컬 모드)는 Genspark API / LLM 프록시를 거쳐서 AI 모델을 부릅니다. 그런데 무료 플랜에서 매일 받는 크레딧은 이 프록시에 쓸 수 없습니다.

그래서 다시 시도해도 계속 같은 메시지가 나옵니다. “이거 기억해” 같은 메모리 저장 요청도 이 상태에서는 처리되지 않을 수 있습니다.

해결 방법

  1. 유료 구독 또는 크레딧 구매: 메시지에 나온 pricing 링크에서 할 수 있습니다.
  2. Claw 대신 다른 기능 쓰기: AI Slides, AI Docs 같은 다른 기능이나 다른 무료 AI 도구를 씁니다.
  3. 실패한 요청 확인: genspark.ai/credit-usage에서 크레딧이 빠졌는지 봅니다.

유료로 쓸 때 크레딧 아끼는 법

Claw는 메시지마다, 그리고 도구를 쓸 때마다 크레딧을 씁니다. 그래서 일반 채팅보다 훨씬 빨리 줄어듭니다.

  • 가벼운 모델로 바꾸기: 사용자 후기에 따르면 가벼운 모델로 바꿨을 때 사용량이 크게 줄었다고 합니다.
  • Heartbeat와 안 쓰는 Schedules 끄기: 말을 걸지 않아도 뒤에서 크레딧을 씁니다.
  • 규칙은 “기억해”로 한 번만 저장하기: 매번 붙여넣지 않아도 됩니다.
  • 계획 먼저 받기: “계획부터 3줄로 보여주고 내가 OK하면 진행해”라고 하면 잘못된 방향으로 크레딧을 쓰는 걸 막을 수 있습니다.
  • 작업 폴더 지정하기: 입력창의 폴더 아이콘으로 프로젝트 폴더를 고르면 다른 폴더까지 뒤지지 않습니다.
  • 일이 바뀌면 새 세션 열기: 대화가 길수록 비싸집니다.

When you use Genspark on the free plan, you run into two problems:

  1. Long chats cost more credits, because every message re-processes the full conversation.
  2. But if you start a new chat, Genspark forgets everything you’ve done.

So I built a set of Skills that summarize your work and pick it up again in a new chat.

The 4 Skills

Skill What it does
conversation-handoff Summarizes goal, files, progress, errors, and rules in 8 fixed sections
resume-work Reads the summary and continues from the next task
fix-error One-line cause + only changed code, stops after 2 failed attempts
token-saving-coding Short answers, only code changes, no unrequested features

Workflow

resume-work → token-saving-coding → (on error) fix-error → conversation-handoff → new chat

Type / in the input box and search by the first letters (/res, /tok, /fix, /con).

How to install

  1. Go to genspark.ai/skills.
  2. Click + New Skill → Create for myself.
  3. Paste the contents of a SKILL.md file from GitHub and ask Genspark to create the Skill.

Tips to save credits

  • Write clear, specific requests in one go (every regeneration costs the same as the first try)
  • Do one task per chat
  • When you hit an error, send only the error message and related code, not the whole file
  • Make small edits yourself instead of asking again
  • On the free plan, the 100 daily credits don’t roll over, so use them the same day

젠스파크(Genspark)를 무료로 쓰다 보면 두 가지 문제가 생깁니다.

  1. 대화가 길어질수록 메시지마다 이전 대화를 다시 읽어서 크레딧이 더 듭니다.
  2. 그렇다고 새 대화로 옮기면 지금까지 한 작업을 기억하지 못합니다.

그래서 작업을 요약해서 넘기고, 새 대화에서 이어받는 스킬을 만들었습니다.

resume-work 요약을 읽고 남은 할 일부터 이어서 작업

token-saving-coding 짧은 답, 바뀐 코드만, 요청 안 한 기능 금지

사용 흐름

resume-work → token-saving-coding → (에러 나면) fix-error → conversation-handoff → 새 대화

입력창에 /를 치고 영어 앞글자(/res, /tok, /fix, /con)로 찾으면 됩니다.

설치 방법

  1. genspark.ai/skills에 들어갑니다.
  2. + New Skill → Create for myself를 누릅니다.
  3. GitHub에 올려 둔 SKILL.md 내용을 붙여넣고 “이걸로 스킬 만들어줘”라고 보냅니다.

  • 에러는 코드 전체 말고 에러 메시지와 관련 부분만 보내기
  • 작은 수정은 직접 고치기
  • 무료 플랜의 하루 100 크레딧은 다음 날로 넘어가지 않으니 그날 쓰기
